Work Experience
Network Engineer -
Marine Corps Base Quantico, VA (Aug 97-Present)
- Head of six-member network support team responsible for supporting a routed-switched Ethernet/Token
Ring/FDDI network consisting of Banyan VINES files servers, Windows NT file servers, Cisco routers, Bay Networks switches, and Bay Networks hubs distributed among a campus network and supporting nearly 5,000 end-users.
- Designed and implemented enterprise-wide migrations from Token Ring environment to Switched Ethernet environment over an OC-3/OC12 backbone.
- Perform analysis, configuration and optimization of all existing network components and infrastructure to include file servers, routers, hubs, switches, and cable plants.
- Design, and implementation of future networking requirements in coordination with various civilian and military agencies, hardware, and software manufacturers.
- Perform administration of Banyan VINES/Windows NT user accounts, access to resources and security.
